Art on Wheels (Private, In-Home Art Lessons for Children)
My art classes are designed to provide young students with the opportunity to develop their artistic skills in a nurturing environment. The mission of Art on Wheels is to foster a sense of creativity by exposing students to an expansive variety of art forms, materials and techniques. The curriculum integrates literature that explores the lives of various artists. Students will explore drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture and mixed media projects. I hope to allow the children to follow their intuition and find happiness in the process of creating art. It will be emphasized that art has no right or wrong; that we are all artists. I believe strongly that art is essential to young minds. Creating art inspires the imagination, which in turn develops innovative thinking—an essential skill in today’s world.
Classes will take place privately, and meet once a week at the child’s home. Up to 4 students will be permitted per class, and my curriculum focused on children aged 3 to 12. This class structure will promote a collaborative environment, where groups of children and their friends and/or siblings can learn art together. The duration of each lesson will be one hour, which will allow a few extra minutes for cleanup.
Art on Wheels is a flexible program that works with each parent’s unique schedule. Art on Wheels highly recommends scheduling the same day and time each week, but happy to work with families in order to accommodate their busy schedules.

About Abigail Rose. (Owner of Art on Wheels)
I grew up in a large household, in a small town, with a quirky artist for a mother. Many would describe my childhood home as a work of art, with every detail reflecting a unique, inventive touch. I went to a private catholic school, where my mother taught art classes in exchange for the education of my siblings and myself. I was always surrounded by art, at school and at home. As a child, I was inspired by my family, and I was encouraged to create something beautiful each and every day.
I studied Fine Art with a concentration in K-3 Education at the University of Massachusetts, Boston. During studies I worked at a pottery studio and gained a great knowledge in ceramics. Post-studies, I spent 6-months in San Diego, where I immersed myself in the art world. There, I participated in several group art shows, and successfully ran my own art camp for children. At the end of the camp, I organized an art show in downtown San Diego. As I surveyed the efforts of my students, displayed ornately in an exhibit that I helped to create, I felt an immense sense of pride. The show was a huge success, and the experience inspired me to continue traveling, working and teaching within the art world.
From there, I went on to teach art privately throughout the western United States in cities including Park City, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. Additionally, I had an incredible experience teaching art internationally at orphanages in India. Recently, I have displayed my portfolio of watercolor silhouettes in LuluLemon Athletica in the eastern and western regions of the United States. I have established my own jewelry business (abigail rose. jewelry). In the fall of 2016, I settled down in New York City to be closer to my family. Here, I proudly continue to nurture the artistic ability in children and create new works of art. My mission in life is to introduce children to the tranquil and therapeutic environment that can be accessed through art.
